exterior

Back-foaming of senotop® - films for exterior applications with amorphous thermoplastics has shown very good results up to now.
Currently polyurethane (PU)-foaming-systems with long fibre injection (LFI) – processes are successfully in use.

Performance of senotop® co-ex film for exterior

UV – stability

The top layer of the film is PMMA. PMMA is the most UV stable thermoplastic within the plastic sector. PMMA shows no change in mechanical or in optical properties, even after external exposure of many years.

> chart right: colour deviations are visible to the human eye at a Delta E-value greater than 1,0.

Chemical resistancesenotop® - films have been tested according to requirements of Automotive Industry for chemical resistance of painted surfaces. senotop® meets all the requirements of the chemical tests according to the testing standards of DBL 5416.
Scratch Resistance

Currently the gloss reduction of the senotop® - film for exterior equals the gloss reduction of a steel sheet  painted with a single-colour base coat (serially cataphoretic, filler and base coat pre-painting) according to the Amtec Kistler testing DIN 555668. The standard version of a senotop® - film for exterior underlies a constant process of development whereas the increase in scratch resistance is one of the prime objectives. Tests on the needle scratch resistance according to DIN 53799-4.15 the senotop® - film  already show similar results to powder coating.

Optical propertiesThe surface shows a high gloss level and very low Longwave (LW)- and Shortwave (SW) - values compared to paints.

The mechanical and thermal values of the film can be taken from the relevant technical data sheet. Current data sheets are available on request at Senco (Europe):
